Shelter building

On the first day of term three, lava got into some shelter building. We got into teams of six. It had to be a mix of girls and boys.

Then we had to chose an animal to build a shelter. My team chose to build a shelter for a cat.

There were lots of materials for us to use to build our shelter but we were only allowed to use three items from the materials. Our team used cardboard, wood and a big garbage bag. Then we got to work.

How we made our shelter:
First we took our box and cut off one of the flaps. Then we cut a hole in the front bottom of the box. After that, we taped the top flaps down. Then we took the garbage bag and cut it in half. We put half of it on the top and taped it to the sides of the box. Then we took the other half and placed it inside of the box. Then we took our cut off flap and taped it to the top of the hole. Lastly we taped our box to a long piece of wood. Then used tape to write “Meow. “

It took us all about two days to finish our shelters.
When we had all finished we presented them to the class.

We had so much fun building our shelter!!
